Use the file, not a screenshot
Download or export the original JPEG, PNG or WebP file when possible. Screenshots and social-network downloads are often rebuilt and may no longer contain the metadata that was attached to the original.
Inspect before changing anything
Drop the image into Free AI Wiper. The browser reads the file container and groups findings into AI provenance and optional private metadata. No file bytes are uploaded by the current image cleaner.
Read the result carefully
“No detectable traces found” means the supported container fields were not present. It is not a universal AI detector and cannot determine authorship from the visible pixels alone.
When traces are present, you can remove the selected categories, download the rebuilt image and review the automatic output inspection.
If a platform still shows an AI label afterward, check where that label may come from. The image format page lists the supported files and the limits of the result.
